ABOUT
I am Thanos Kokkinis. I was born in 1960 in Thessaloniki, Greece. I am a self-taught photographer and my first attempts at photography date from the early '80s. My first camera was a Pentax MX and I am still a Pentaxian. I use almost exclusively vintage prime lenses for their unique character. I shoot manual only in natural light never using flash, filters or other accessories. Just chasing the light. I love street photography of Doisneau's humanist art (first we talk then I click) but I also do landscape, portraits, nature and macro/close-up. I am a founding member of 'Out of Focus' photography club of Thessaloniki/Greece and member of the Greek Photographic Society as well as an Official Member of the Moments Collective Community. I have participated in 9 collective exhibitions of the Out of Focus club and 2 collective exhibitions of the Greek Photographic Society and I have presented two personal exhibitions (Streets & People, Street Music) in Thessaloniki/Greece. My photographs have been published in Fine Eye Magazine, in Pixel Photo Magazine and in Pentaxians Yearbook 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and the Pentaxians Mono 2023 book. I have published 20 digital photobooks.
